About Mijoux-La Valserine

The day lift pass is shared with Lélex-Crozet and the small beginner sector of Menthières: a single “Monts Jura” pass gives access to all three sectors, which are not linked on skis — a shuttle bus connects La Faucille to Crozet. The kilometres and runs shown here only concern the Mijoux-La Faucille sector. Mijoux is a village at 1,000 m in the Haut-Jura. Its 15 km of runs offer views over Lake Geneva and the Alps. A resort close to Switzerland, reachable from Geneva in 45 minutes. Relaxed Franco-Swiss atmosphere.

Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability

✍️ Our verdict on Mijoux-La Valserine

Mijoux-La Valserine is a low-key resort on a modest scale — 15 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Mijoux-La Valserine's family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Jura for learning to ski with children. The moderate altitude of Mijoux-La Valserine — 1,000 m at the bottom, 1,550 m at the top — makes it sensitive to climate variations. January and February remain the most reliable months for optimal snow cover. Outside this window, checking snow reports before setting off is strongly advised. The €38 day lift pass places Mijoux-La Valserine in the mid-range category on price — neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the ski area and its facilities justifies the price for most skiers. In short: Mijoux-La Valserine does not compete with the giants of skiing, and doesn't pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
