✍️ Our view of Les Arêtes

Les Arêtes is a low-key resort on a modest scale: 20 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the hustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. The family reputation of Les Arêtes is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. The moderate altitude of Les Arêtes, from 900 m at the base to 1,500 m at the top, makes it sensitive to changes in the weather. January and February remain the safest months for optimal snow cover. Outside this window, it is strongly advisable to check the snow reports before you set off. With a day lift pass at just 18€, Les Arêtes is one of the most affordable destinations in France. For families on a tight budget, or skiers who want to make the most of their days without breaking the bank, it is a sincere and often overlooked choice. In short: Les Arêtes does not rival the giants of skiing, and does not pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
