Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Grimentz-Zinal offers 115 km of well-marked runs — a medium-sized ski area ideal for spending 4 to 5 days without ever doing exactly the same thing twice. The 21 lifts are generally enough to handle the flow in high season. Technical terrain is king at Grimentz-Zinal: with 26 black runs and 51 red runs on the programme, confident skiers will find plenty to challenge them. Off-piste and freeride are practised here in often excellent conditions, thanks to the altitude and the orientation of the slopes. With a summit at 2,900 m and a village at 1,570 m, snow cover at Grimentz-Zinal is generally reliable from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters can cause tension early in the season, but the situation recovers quickly once serious snowfall arrives. The budget for a stay at Grimentz-Zinal is clearly high: 77€ for a day pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence — but it is worth being aware of it before you go. In short: Grimentz-Zinal lives up to its promises. A Northern Alps resort that should suit most skiers without disappointing.
