Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Glacier 3000 is a small, low-key resort, with 28 km of runs offering an intimate skiing experience far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and lift queues that barely exist. Glacier 3000's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-maintained green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. As for snow, Glacier 3000 is in a strong position with its summit at 3,016 m: even in capricious winters, the upper runs hold up well into April. The village at 1,343 m is also well placed to offer comfortable conditions from mid-December onwards. The budget for a stay at Glacier 3000 is clearly high: 83€ for a day pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short: Glacier 3000 doesn't rival the giants of skiing and doesn't pretend to. It is an honest, often underrated destination that deserves to be (re)discovered.
