Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Foppolo is a low-key resort on a modest scale — 22 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Foppolo has kept the identity of an authentic mountain village, far from the concrete resorts of the 1970s. People come here for the clean air, the unspoilt landscapes and a human atmosphere that stands in contrast to the industrialisation of skiing in some large ski areas. The altitude of Foppolo (1,635 m at the base, 2,163 m at the top) helps it maintain decent snow cover in the depths of winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is best to check conditions before finalising a booking. The day lift pass at €40 places Foppolo in the intermediate category on budget — neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the ski area and facilities justifies this price for most skiers. In short: Foppolo does not compete with the giants of skiing, and does not pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
