Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Eischoll is a modest-scale, lesser-known resort — 15 km of pistes for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Eischoll's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Eischoll's altitude (1,260 m at the base, 2,200 m at the top) lets it maintain a decent snow cover through mid-winter. January and February are the most reliable; in December and March, it is best to check conditions before finalising a booking. Budgeting for a stay in Eischoll is clearly on the high side: 52€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants among the most expensive in the Alps. That is the price of excellence — but it is worth being aware of it before you set off. In short: Eischoll doesn't compete with the giants of skiing, and doesn't pretend to. It is an honest, often underrated destination well worth (re)discovering.
