Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability

✍️ Our view of Doganaccia

Doganaccia is a small, intimate resort – 15 km of runs for a cosy skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. People come here for the calm, the authenticity and the queues at the lifts that barely exist. Doganaccia's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Apennins for getting children started on skiing. Doganaccia's modest altitude – base at 1,446 m, summit at 1,795 m – makes it sensitive to climate variations. January and February remain the most reliable months for optimal snow cover. Outside this window, it is strongly advisable to check the snow reports before you leave. The day lift pass at 29€ is reasonable for the quality of the ski area on offer. Counting accommodation, skiing and meals, Doganaccia suits those who want a good week without the final bill knocking them off their chair. In short: Doganaccia does not rival the ski giants, and it does not pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that is well worth discovering (or rediscovering).
