✍️ Our verdict on Arosa

The Arosa ski area, with its 225 km of runs, offers a great choice for all kinds of skiers: large enough that you won't run out of things to do during a week, yet compact enough to find your favourite sectors easily. The 43 lifts mean you can string together descents without long waits. Arosa's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, a well-organised childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It's one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. With a summit at 2,865 m and a village at 1,775 m, snow reliability at Arosa is generally good from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters can cause difficulties early in the season, but conditions usually recover quickly once the first heavy snowfalls arrive. Budgeting for a stay in Arosa is clearly on the high side: 94€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It's the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short, Arosa lives up to its promises. A Northern Alps resort that will suit most skiers without disappointing.
