Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Venet is a low-key resort on a modest scale — 15 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Technical terrain reigns at Venet: with 20 black runs and 80 red runs on the programme, confirmed skiers will find plenty to challenge them. Off-piste and freeride are practised here in often excellent conditions, thanks to the altitude and the orientation of the slopes. Venet's altitude (780 m at the bottom, 2,212 m at the top) allows it to maintain decent snow cover in mid-winter. January and February are the most reliable; in December and March, it is best to check conditions before finalising a booking. The 43€ day lift pass places Venet in the intermediate category on budget — neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the ski area and facilities justifies the price for most skiers. In short: Venet does not compete with the giants of skiing, and doesn't claim to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
