Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Todtnauberg is a low-key resort on a modest scale, with 13 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. It's here that people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Todtnauberg's reputation as a family resort is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It's one of the most reassuring low-mountain resorts for getting children started on skiing. Todtnauberg's moderate altitude, from 1,000 m at the base to 1,400 m at the summit, makes it sensitive to climate variations. January and February remain the safest months for optimal snow cover. Outside that window, checking the snow reports before you leave is strongly advised. A day lift pass at €38 puts Todtnauberg in the intermediate category on budget: neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the ski area and its facilities justifies this price for most skiers. In short: Todtnauberg doesn't compete with the giants of skiing, and doesn't pretend to. It's an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
