Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Sella Nevea is a resort on a human scale, banking on the quality of its welcome and its closeness rather than impressive figures. Its 30 km of runs suit a 3 to 4 day stay perfectly, especially for families or skiers who don't need to constantly renew their playground. Sella Nevea's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It's one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Sella Nevea's altitude (1,103 m at the base, 2,292 m at the top) allows it to maintain decent snow cover through midwinter. January and February are the most reliable; in December and March, it's best to check conditions before finalising a booking. The 44€ day lift pass places Sella Nevea among the mid-range resorts budget-wise: neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the ski area and its facilities justifies the price for most skiers. In short, Sella Nevea doesn't rival the giants of skiing, and doesn't pretend to. It's an honest destination, often underestimated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
