✍️ Our take on Moléson

Small-scale resort, Moléson focuses on the quality of its welcome and its closeness rather than on impressive figures. Its 30 km of runs are perfect for a 3 to 4 day stay, especially for families or skiers who don't need to constantly renew their playground. Moléson's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for getting children started on skiing. Moléson's moderate altitude, with a base at 1,109 m and a summit at 1,978 m, makes it sensitive to climate variations. January and February remain the safest months for optimal snow cover. Outside this window, checking the snow reports before you travel is strongly recommended. A stay at Moléson is clearly on the expensive side: 52€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but be aware of it before you set off. In short: Moléson doesn't compete with the giants of skiing, and doesn't pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
