Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Les Monts d'Olmes is a modest, low-key resort with 15 km of runs, offering an intimate skiing experience far from the bustle of the big resorts. It's where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Les Monts d'Olmes' family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Pyrenees for laying the foundations of skiing with children. The altitude of Les Monts d'Olmes (1,430 m at the base, 2,000 m at the top) allows it to maintain decent snow cover in midwinter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it's best to check conditions before finalising a booking. The 35€ day lift pass remains reasonable for the quality of the ski area on offer. Counting accommodation, skiing and meals, Les Monts d'Olmes suits those who want a good week without the final bill knocking them off their chair. In short, Les Monts d'Olmes doesn't compete with the giants of skiing and doesn't pretend to. It's an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
