Did you know?
Le Revard is considered one of the very first ski resorts in France: from the winter of 1908–1909, the rack railway opened in 1892 began carrying skiers up from Aix-les-Bains, when until then it had only run in summer.
The resort quickly acquired an ice rink, a bobsleigh track, ski jumps… and, lacking lifts in the 1930s, two half-track vehicles that towed skiers. In 1935, the French Ski Federation set up the first ski instructor training centre there.

Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability

✍️ Our review of Le Revard

Le Revard is a modestly sized, low-key resort: 7 km of pistes for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. The Revard's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. The Revard's modest altitude, with the base at 1,300 m and the summit at 1,550 m, makes it sensitive to climate variations. January and February remain the safest months for optimal snow cover. Outside this window, checking the snow reports before you set off is strongly recommended. With a day lift pass for just 22€, Le Revard is one of the most affordable destinations in France. For families on a tight budget, or skiers who want to make the most of their days without breaking the bank, it's a sincere and often overlooked choice. In short, Le Revard doesn't compete with the giants of skiing and doesn't pretend to. It's an honest, often underrated destination that deserves to be (re)discovered.
