Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability

✍️ Our verdict on Garessio 2000

Garessio 2000 is a small, low-key resort: 12 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Garessio 2000's family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Southern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Garessio 2000's modest altitude, from a base of 1,342 m to a summit of 1,578 m, makes it sensitive to climate variations. January and February remain the safest months for optimal snow cover. Outside that window, checking the snow reports before you leave is strongly advised. The 28€ day lift pass remains reasonable for the quality of the ski area on offer. Counting accommodation, skiing and meals, Garessio 2000 suits those who want a good week without the final bill knocking them off their chairs. In short, Garessio 2000 does not rival the giants of skiing, and does not claim to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
