✍️ Our verdict on Eriz

Eriz is a low-key resort on a modest scale: 6 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where you come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Eriz's reputation as a family resort is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a relaxed atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for getting children started on skiing. Eriz's modest altitude, from a base of 1,044 m to a summit of 1,378 m, makes it sensitive to changes in the weather. January and February remain the safest months for optimal snow cover. Outside that window, checking the snow reports before you set off is strongly advised. At €36 for a day pass, Eriz sits in the mid-range for budget: neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the area and its facilities justifies the price for most skiers. In short, Eriz does not rival the giants of skiing and does not pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
