Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Bergün is a low-key resort on a modest scale: 20 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where you come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Bergün's reputation as a family resort is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a good-natured atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. With a summit at 2,569 m and a village at 1,384 m, Bergün's snow reliability is generally dependable from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters can cause strain early in the season, but the situation recovers quickly with the first heavy snowfalls. At 50€ the day lift pass places Bergün in the intermediate category on budget — neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the ski area and its facilities justifies this price for most skiers. In short: Bergün does not rival the giants of skiing, and does not pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
