The 2024-2025 season in the Pyrenees was marked by a mix of good spells and worrying heat waves. A mixed record.
A difficult December
The first few weeks brought a notable snow deficit, forcing several resorts to delay their opening or to rely heavily on artificial snow.
January and February to the rescue
Two significant snowfalls made up for lost ground. The Grand Tourmalet recorded up to 180 cm of fresh snow at altitude, allowing almost the entire ski area to open.
The best-placed resorts
Piau-Engaly, thanks to its altitude (1,850m), and Saint-Lary-Soulan did particularly well. Font-Romeu depends on its exceptional sunshine, which is a drawback when it comes to keeping snow.
